The softball catcher needs to exert
him or herself as the field general. Communication on the softball
field is necessary and a good catcher will take control. The catcher
has the view of the entire field and can make the proper call for
throws to each base.
In terms of softball hitting, don’t change your swing right before the season or during the season. A new swing takes too much time to learn. You can make minor adjustments but no big chances. The best time to change your swing is right after the season.
